A Message from the Board of Directors
This year has been challenging. Where hasn't it been? Although the West Chester Area Day Care Center received less funding and fewer donations this year, the Center continued to thrive and provide excellent care for the children. The success is primarily due to the people involved. Betsy Billie, our Executive Director, who celebrated her 19th year, and the staff, are enthusiastic teachers. I sincerely appreciate their dedication and do not underestimate the effort it takes to effectively manage the demanding day to day operations here. In addition to handling daily demands, Betsy remarkably initiated and completed several important improvements adding to the Center's success last year. Our children deserve a safe facility, experienced and educated teachers, top of the line child care supplies, quality equipment and educational materials. As we review the strategic plan and upcoming annual budget, we anticipate additional funding cuts and finding reliable repeatable sources of funding is a major concern. The Board of Directors continues to dedicate time and contribute money to ensure the successful operation of the Center. They are also donating fresh fruits and vegetables monthly to improve the children's diet. On behalf of the children, the staff and the Board of Directors, thank you to all who give so generously.
